A short history of K69
Formerly known as DJ-K there are now 2 distinctive identities. K69 a veteran behind the decks started his journey back in 1991 when he was entranced by rave culture and the varied music it brought with it. By 1994 he had his first residency in a local club as well as guest slots at Es Paradis and various Ibiza bars. 1996 was the year things took off. After winning Muzik Magazine's "Bedroom Bedlam" mix of the month he became a regular on the UK Club scene playing the likes of Gatecrasher, Progress, Sundissential, The Ministry of Sound, and The Red Box (Dublin) on a regular basis.
Pushing his pumping house and early trance sound in 1997, he was awarded the Radio 1 / Muzik Magazine award for "Best Bedroom Bedlam DJ of the Year and was interviewed live on Radio 1 by Judge Jules. A Roller coaster of super-clubs followed and in 2001 DJ-K Played the biggest club in the world, "Privelage-Ibiza" at the Xtravanganza closing party. The highlight of his career was playing to over 12,000 clubbers at the Exit Festival in Serbia in 2002 where he played techno and tribal house vibes as the sun rose over the river Danube.
Following a break, Rhythm Nation was born in July 2014 and within months was regularly hitting No.1 in the Mixcloud trending charts and became the most listened-to radio show on the DI.FM oldschoolrave channel. Originally launching on DI.FM, the world’s biggest internet radio station has taken the show to Groove Flow, Earth Breach radio, No Grief FM, and the Godfather of oldskool's radio station "OSN! and topped the Mixcloud chart over 100 times.
Fast forward to 2023. Following a hugely successful 5 years of track releases and reaching No.5 in the Worldwide Beatport House Hype rankings with track releases as K69 K has returned to the airwaves with DI.FM on the last Sunday of the month with his hugely popular "One Love" radio show and podcast. K69's tracks can be now found on no less than 200 different compilations.
Sublime Recordings is the latest chapter in K69's journey : Joining forces with Dream Frequency to collaborate on a series of digital and vinyl Limited editions.
